if climbed from Glen Nevis Aonach mor and Aonach Beag present a rugged, wild and remote experience
Aonach Mor and Aonach Beag are amongst the highest mountains in Scotland and, if climbed from Glen Nevis, present a rugged, wild and remote experience offering superb views north towards the Grey Corries and south towards Ben Nevis and the Mamores.
With the development of the Nevis Range mountain resort in 1989 and installation of a gondola the access to these two mountains could not be much more different if climbed from the west, but this option lacks the character and adventure of the route that we’ll be taking!
Munros:
Aonach Beag (little ridged mountain) - 1234m
Aonach Mor (big ridged mountain) - 1221m
A good level of fitness is required and the terrain will be steep, boggy and pathless in places. This is a Level 4 walk, for more information on walk grading click here.
